I am thankful!

Today is the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States, a time where we are encouraged to reflect on all for which we hold gratitude in our hearts. Thanksgiving arrives near the beginning of Sagittarius season: ruled by Jupiter, the planet of eternal optimism. It is fitting to focus on gratitude during this time.

As Americans who way too easily slip into over-materialistic consumerism, we do not always live up to our ideals. The fact that Thanksgiving is followed immediately by “Black Friday,” the most consumeristic day of the year, is quite an irony. Jupiter also rules “abundance,” and this can be a double-edged sword.

Nevertheless, I can only do what I can do, and I choose to focus on simplicity and gratitude. Before the extended family arrives and plunges my home into merry chaos, I wanted to write a quick note of reflection.

One of the items I am putting on my list of things to be thankful for is YOU, dear reader. Thank you for being part of my little newsletter. Thank you for being part of my life. Thank you for your support and encouragement and feedback.
